Day 1, Thursday, November 29

Today we fly from Springfield, MO to Miami, FL to begin our wonder adventure of the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and the Mexican Riviera.

Day 2, Friday, November 30

After a morning sight-seeing excursion, we will board our ship the Norwegian Star with a 5:00 PM sailing and dinner on board. (D)

Day 3 & 4, Saturday & Sunday, December 1 & 2

On these sea days we have a chance to get to know our ship and enjoy its many amenities.  Schedule a Spa session, attend a lecture or a movie or simply soak up the sun by the pool. (B,L,D)

Day 5, Monday, December 3

Today our port is Cartagena, Colombia.  The old walled city of Cartagena reflects a turbulent history of conquistadors and pirates. Climb “las murallas” for an unforgettable view of the harbor. Shop for emeralds and leather goods along the cobblestone streets of this enchanting city. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Tuesday, December 4

Today we do our daylight transit of the Panama Canal.  Experience one of the world’s best short cuts! Journey 40 miles through the Panama Canal for an unforgettable experience. Witness first-hand one of the world’s manmade short cuts that has changed travel and the transport of goods worldwide.  Truly a marvel of engineering!  (B,L,D)

Day 7, Wednesday, December 5

Another very relaxing sea day to enjoy our ship is in store for us today.  (B,L,D)

Day 8, Thursday, December 6

Today our port of call is Puntarenas, Costa Rica.  Stroll the seaport town with its multi-colored cottages and local markets. Head to Carara Tropical Rainforest to explore exotic flora and fauna with a naturalist guide. Or opt for a tour of San Jose – home of the Teatro Nacional and Museo del Oro.  (B,L,D)

Day 9, Friday, December 7

Corinto, Nicaragua is our port of call today.  Nicaragua’s largest port, Corinto sits on an island connected to the mainland by bridges. Nicaragua is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and the area offers long stretches of white sand and clear blue waters. Visit the nearby city of León to see the wonderful cathedral, monuments and colonial buildings as well as the ruins of León Viejo, one of the oldest Spanish settlements in the Americas.  (B,L,D)

Day 10, Saturday, December 8

We port today in Puerto Quetzal.  This port city was constructed in 1984 to help connect nearby cities. Travelers often venture out to Antigua, a 90-minute trek to where 17th century colonial facades beckons and Guatemalan history comes alive.  (B,L,D)

Day 11, Sunday, December 9

Another relaxing day at sea.  (B,L,D)

Day 12, Monday, December 10

Today we visit the famous port city of Acapulco, Mexico. As one of Mexico’s oldest coastal tourist destinations, Acapulco has much to offer both tourist and traveler. Shop, swim or simply take a siesta on the beach. But be sure not to miss the legendary La Quebrada cliff divers.  (B,L,D)

Day 13, Tuesday, December 11

Another relaxing day at sea as we sail up the Mexican coast towards Cabo San Lucas.  (B,L,D)

Day 14, Wednesday, December 12

Today we explore our last port of call, Cabo San Lucas.  Cabo’s signature landmark is El Arco (“The Arch”), a rock formation at the tip of “Land’s End.” The jewel of the Baja Peninsula is famous for its world-class sportfishing, as well as its high-end resorts and exclusive gated communities that line an area simply called “the Corridor.”  (B,L,D)

Day 15, Thursday, December 13

Today is our last full day on the ship to relax before we begin our journey home.  (B,L,D)

Day 16, Friday, December 14

Today we say good-bye to our lovely cruise ship and begin our journey back to Springfield, MO.  (B)
