Day 1, Sunday, December 29, 2019

After arriving in California, we will check into the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Long Beach.  We will enjoy a welcome dinner this evening at a local restaurant;  then a relaxing night at our 4-star hotel:  a perfect start to the fun and adventure of the Rose Parade Tour. (D)

Day 2, Monday, December 30, 2019

Go behind the scenes of your favorite television shows and movies during a Paramount rose parade 4Studio Tour.  See Hollywood at work, and be on the lookout for a movie star or a television celebrity.  Enjoy lunch onboard the Queen Mary.  Now docked in Long Beach harbor, it was once the grandest ocean liner on the seas.   Between each destination, sit back and enjoy the commentary as our guide points out the many historic and culturally significant locations along the way.  (B,L)

Day 3, Tuesday, December 31, 2019

Explore the Float Barns as volunteers work around-the-clock to put the finishing touches on the spectacular Rose Parade floats.  Following the float construction tour,  visit The Huntington Library, Museum and Botanical Gardens. Tour the art collections, exhibits and rare and exotic plants from around the world.  (B,L)rosebowl2

Day 4, Wednesday, January 1, 2020

We start the New Year (2020, WOW!) early as we take our seats in the grandstands near the television cameras.  It’s a perfect spot for taking pictures of the floats, marching bands, and equestrian teams.   Following the parade, we will enjoy lunch in the Waterfront section of Long Beach. You’ll also have access to the Pike Outlets and over 344,000 square feet of Southern California shopping and entertainment.  We will visit the Aquarium of the Pacific, which houses over 11,000 ocean animals and 500 species, including sharks, jellies, seahorses, and sea dragons.  This evening explore the Long Beach coastline from another perspective on a relaxing harbor cruise. What a spectacular way to finish out our tour.  (B,L)   

Day 5, Thursday, January 2, 2020

Our Farewell Breakfast is a chance to say goodbye to our local tour guide and all the new friends you’ve made during your time on the Rose Parade Tour.  We will fly back to Springfield today. (B)

Note for Fly Away Passengers:

Missouri residents will need a Missouri REAL ID Compliant Driver’s License to board the aircraft OR a Federally issued ID with a photo such as a passport.  Travel Protection Insurance is highly recommended as flights are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Please Note: Many of our sightseeing stops/sites require extensive standing, sitting, walking – sometimes on unpaved or cobblestone streets, loading and unloading into horse drawn carriages and/or trolleys.    Sunnyland Travel will not refund or cover any cost of expense incurred for any missed activities due to a participant’s inability to fully participate with the group.  If you require assistance in walking, navigating stairs, etc., you are required to travel with a qualified physically-able companion who can accompany and provide such assistance.  Due to many historic locations, the motor coach is not allowed to stay on site or remain running to provide an alternate shelter for those not able to participate in an event.  Please make sure you read the itinerary fully and call one of our travel consultants if you have any questions.
