Day 1, Saturday, April 17

Depart Springfield, Missouri for Manchester, Tennessee.

Day 2, Sunday, April 18

Another travel day through beautiful countryside via Atlanta, Georgia and into Brunswick, Georgia for our overnight.
LODGING: Hampton Inn

MEALS: Breakfast  

Day 3, Monday, April 19

We will have a local guide for a tour of the beautiful, historic “Golden Isles”. It will include Jekyll Island, featuring the winter homes of turn-of-the-century millionaires. Also St. Simons Island with a stop at Christ Church and the cemetery in Frederica, made world famous by Eugenia Price in her novel “Beloved Invader.” There will be time for lunch and shopping at the village pier where the light house is located. See the beautiful old oak trees draped with moss. We continue to Savannah, Georgia for our lodging in the Historic District for 2 nights.

Day 4, Tuesday, April 20

We begin our guided tour into one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the nation with its beautiful cobblestone streets, splendid mansions and exquisite ironwork which reveal 260 years of history. The tour ends with an included lunch at Wilkes Boarding House. After lunch, we will see Savannah from a different angle as we take our narrated cruise on the Savannah River. There will be free time on the waterfront before returning to our hotel.

Day 5, Wednesday, April 21

We depart Savannah for Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and a guided tour of Hilton Head including Sea Pines Plantation. The tour will end at Harbour Town with an included lunch at Crazy Crab Restaurant. You will have free time to browse the waterfront boutiques and maybe climb the lighthouse before checking into our lovely hotel. Dinner will be included at our hotel this evening.

Day 6, Thursday, April 22

The City of Charleston is another treasure of the Old South and we will enjoy a Horse Drawn Carriage Tour through the historic district this morning and a tour of the beautiful Magnolia Plantation and Gardens this afternoon. We will be able to tour the plantation home, tour the gardens, do the nature tram tour and walk through the Audubon Swamp before checking in to our hotel in Charleston, South Carolina.

Day 7, Friday, April 23

A lovely morning as we board our boat for a cruise around the Charleston Harbor on our way to Ft. Sumter with an opportunity to tour the Fort where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. We will have some free time for lunch and shopping at “The Market” in Charleston before departing for Charlotte, North Carolina.

Day 8, Saturday, April 24

A real treat is in store for us this morning as we take a nostalgic trip back through the life and ministry of Billy Graham in the new Billy Graham Library and Museum. This afternoon we continue on to Asheville, North Carolina to tour the awesome Biltmore Mansion, home of the Vanderbilts.

Day 9, Sunday, April 25

We begin our journey home and will end our day with a lovely farewell dinner at Patti’s as our way of saying “Thank You” for traveling with Sunnyland Tours.
