Enjoy the best of two worlds as we travel by motor coach to “Nawlins” where there is always some excuse to let the good times roll! We will enjoy a guided tour and some free time in this most exciting of all cities before boarding our cruise ship for 5 glorious days. Upon our return, we will have one more night of exciting action as we overnight in Tunica, Mississippi.

Day 1, Saturday, June 19

We travel today to Jackson, Mississippi.
LODGING: Hampton Inn

Day 2, Sunday, June 20

This morning we drive to New Orleans and pick up our local guide for a narrated tour which includes such places as the French Quarter, historic Jackson Square and “Cities of the Dead” Cemetery where the dead are always buried above ground. Our hotel is in the French Quarter and within easy walking distance to all attractions including Harrahs Casino, the streetcars or the World War II Museum. After our tour, your time is free for the remainder of your stay.

Day 3, Monday, June 21

We have the morning free to explore the French Quarter, but will board the Carnival Triumph by 1:30 pm. The ship departs down the Mississippi river and into the Gulf of Mexico at 4:00 pm.

Day 4, Tuesday, June 22

Today we get to know our ship, the Carnival Triumph. We can enjoy the Spa, the pool with its 3 story slide, the numerous bars and bistros, the casino and the many shops. Stay busy or just be leisurely. Its your vacation!

Day 5, Wednesday, June 23

Today our port of call is Progresso, Yucatan, Mexico, a seaside retreat located on the nothern side of the Yucatan Peninsula. Founded in 1872 by Juan Miguel Castro and heavily influenced by the Mayan culture, Progresso enjoys a very simple and relaxed lifestyle. Its white-sand beaches, emerald green waters and cooling gulf breezes are a natural draw for vacationers from all over the world. Optional shore excursions are available.

Day 6, Thursday, June 24

Today our port of call is Cozumel, Mexico. Cozumel has always been well-known as a diving spot and home to the world famous Palancar Reef, which gives divers the opportunity to view thousands of brilliantly colored fish. If you're not a diver, try snorkeling, or if you want to stay dry, do the submarine to see the reef. Non-divers (or snorklers) can kick back on a sun-drenched beach, or enjoy any number of seaside activities, such as shopping in colorful marketplaces or dining in an open-air café. Optional shore excursions are available.

Day 7, Friday, June 25

Today we enjoy another fun day at sea. It will be our last night on the ship, so we must make the most of the Fine Dining, Buffets, Pizza & Hamburger Stations, Deli, Ice Cream Bar and perhaps the jogging trail would be a good thing to do as well.

Day 8, Saturday, June 26

We return to New Orleans waving good-bye to our lovely cruise ship and re-board our Motor coach to begin our journey back home; but, before we arrive, we will spend a fun evening in Tunica, Mississippi at the Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Day 9, Sunday, June 27

We leave early, but include a Farewell Lunch before our arrival in Springfield at approximately 3:30 PM.
