2011 Letter
Dear Sunnyland Travelers,
2011 marks the beginning of the sixth year of my ownership of Sunnyland Tours and Travel and we have some exciting things that are happening in the months ahead. With our continued growth in both tours and in the travel agency, we have moved our offices to a larger space at 1452 E.Sunshine. We are conveniently located between Fremont and Glenstone in the Allan Shopping Center next to the St. John’s Credit Union. We are all very excited about having the larger space where we can host our own document parties, cruise parties and catalog roll outs. We call our new home the Sunnyland Travel Center, where you can get all of your travel needs met. As you know, we do escorted and non-escorted tours, as well as independent travel for the whole family. We can fulfill all of your travel needs under one roof!
As for our 2011 escorted tours, we have introduced many new tours this year. Our motorcoach to the pier and cruise tours were so successful in 2010 that we are offering an even larger variety in 2011. Our first will be in April where we motorcoach to Charleston by way of Savannah, then board our cruise ship to sail to the Bahamas for 5 relaxing days, then return to our coach to travel on to Biltmore, the Vanderbilt home, and then back to Springfield by way of Tennessee. We’re also offering a similar trip by way of the Northwest part of the United States and a cruise toAlaska. What a great way to see some of the most scenic areasof our country AND Alaska all in one trip. This tour even includes one night in Yellowstone National Park. If it’s sun drenched beaches you’re looking for, we have a trip to Las Vegas and then on to Los Angeles to board our cruise ship to experience the beauty of the Mexican Riviera. After the cruise we explore the Grand Canyon before we return home. To top it all off, we have an exciting New Year’s Eve tour to New Orleans combined with a New Years day sailing to the Western Caribbean. These tours are ideal for those of you that just don’t want the bother of airports and security.
Many of you will notice that we’re not offering Mystery Trips this year. Well, we really are offering them; they’re just not a mystery this year. In these uncertain economic times, people are unwillingto take the risk of not knowing where they are going. So you will find many trips in the catalog that are the length and price of our former mystery trips. This time you just know where you’re going. We’re also offering many new trips like our National Parks tour, Summer in Vermont where we stay at the Trapp Family Lodge and a new trip to New York City complete with a hotel in Times Squareand two Broadway Shows. For those of you wanting to indulge in some international flavor, but don’t want to get a passport, we’re offering our Around the Word Without a Passport tour to enjoy some of the ethnic food and flavor of our great melting pot of a nation.
Finally, we are offering a Panama Canal Cruise complete with a full transit crossing. We will enter the canal from the Atlantic on our cruise ship, then board a smaller vessel to explore Gatun Lake, the Continental Divide and finally the locks on the Pacific side. You will actually be able to touch the side of the locks. What a fabulous picture that will make! We’ll then motorcoach back to our awaiting ship.
Happy Traveling,
Stephen Brock
