Day 3, Tuesay, December 11, 2012
We have an awesome day planned today. Our morning will be spent at the Museum of Science and Industry. The Museum halls will be decked, holiday singers and dancers will fuel the festivities, and the sparkle of dozens of decorated trees will greet you at the annual Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light exhibit. The Museum’s 45-foot Grand Tree will take center stage in the Rotunda with more than 30,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments, surrounded by more than 50 smaller trees beautifully decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities to represent their various cultures and holiday traditions. Stroll through the trees, enjoy intermittent falling “snow” and savor the performances on the Holiday Stage. After an included lunch we will embark on a Chicago city tour seeing the architecture, neighborhoods, monuments and ball fields that make this city great. After our tour, weather permitting, we will visit the top of the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) for a truly top down view of Chicago. The evening is free for more shopping, dining or to take in a show.
