Day 1, Wednesday, Aug 11

We get an early start this morning on our first day toward the Big Apple!  You will be treated to a scrumptious lunch along the road toward our hotel in Dayton, OH.  If all goes well, we should arrive at our hotel in time for light fare and drinks!  (L)

Day 2, Thursday, Aug 12

We continue across Ohio and Pennsylvania on our adventure today.  After lunch we will stop at the Flight 93 National Memorial to pay our respects to those that risked all and showed us that true heroes can be ordinary people. We continue toward Hershey, PA for our overnight stay. (B)

Day 3, Friday, Aug 13

This may very well be the “sweetest” day of our tour. Today we learn the rags to riches story of Milton Hershey as we tour the town that chocolate built. Of course, we will get to “unwrap” a few treats at an interactive tasting and we even get to make our own chocolate bar! We will work off the calories with a stroll in the gorgeous Hershey Gardens before blowing a “kiss” to Hershey and heading toward New Jersey for the night. (B)

Day 4, Saturday, Aug 14

Hello Big Apple! Today we will get insider information about the production of a Broadway show. Then off to take in a matinee. We then check into our Times Square hotel for 3 nights. (B,L)

Day 5, Sunday, Aug 15

This morning we are joined by a local guide as we take a bite out of the city.   For a half day we will take in as many sights as we can and take in some history and stories about this amazing city.  We will enjoy an included lunch at the completion of our tour.  The evening is earmarked for ANOTHER Broadway show!  This time you get to choose what you see (at the time of printing a full list was not available).    (B,L)

Day 6, Monday, Aug 16

Today is yours to enjoy as you wish!  You will be provided with tickets for the #1 sightseeing tour in NY-the double decker, hop on, hop off bus.  In addition to the comprehensive city loops, this ticket includes YOUR CHOICE of 3 attractions.  You may choose the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the 9-11 Museum, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum or perhaps, something else! A full list will be provided after the tour is paid in full. This gives you time to explore the city as you wish- you are not tied down to someone else’s choices or time schedule.  An absolute dream way to explore NYC! (B)

Day 7, Tuesday, Aug 17

We leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind us as we travel out through the lush Pennsylvania countryside. We will have an amazing lunch in an Amish farmhouse before having a little time to shop for treasures and unwind.  Tonight we stay in New Stanton, PA.(B, L)

Day 8, Wednesday, Aug 18

We start for home in earnest today.  Back through Ohio, and across Indiana before resting one last night on the road.  Our final night together will be in Terre Haute, Indiana (B)

Day 9, Thursday, Aug 19

Our last day together we can spend reminiscing (and maybe singing a few show tunes), as we make our way back into Missouri.  We say “Thank You” to all with a farewell lunch before arriving in Springfield mid afternoon. (B,L)

Please Note: Many of our sightseeing stops/sites require extensive standing, sitting, walking – sometimes on unpaved or cobblestone streets, loading and unloading into horse drawn carriages and/or trolleys. Sunnyland Travel will not refund or cover any cost of expense incurred for any missed activities due to a participant’s inability to fully participate with the group. If you require assistance in walking, navigating stairs, etc., you are required to travel with a qualified physically-able companion who can accompany and provide such assistance. Due to many historic locations, the motor coach is not allowed to stay on site or remain running to provide an alternate shelter for those not able to participate in an event. Please make sure you read the itinerary fully and call one of our travel consultants if you have any questions.
