Day 1,Sunday, July 15, 2012

We depart Springfield, MO and travel to Dayton, OH.  Unless we have a delay, we should be there in time for their complimentary drinks and hot hors’ devours buffet.

Day 2, Monday, July 16, 2012

Today we arrive in Bird-in Hand, PA.  Dinner is included tonight in an Amish home as they open their doors and feed us as if we were family.

Day 3, Tuesday, July 17, 2012

A guide will meet us this morning and take us on a narrated tour of the Amish/Mennonite Countryside.  We will learn much about their customs and interesting anecdotes from their lives.  Next we arrive at the Kitchen Kettle for lunch on our own and free time for shopping and optional buggy rides.  In the late afternoon we will have free time to explore Bird-In- Hand Village.  This evening we’ll have dinner and a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.

Day 4, Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Today we arrive at the Plain and Fancy Farm to see a showing of Jacob’s Choice.  Next we tour the National Christmas Center before departing for our buffet lunch at Eden’s Resort.  After lunch we arrive for an afternoon production of “Jonah” at the Sight & Sound Theatre.

Day 5, Thursday, July 19, 2012

We depart this beautiful land and friendly people of Lancaster County and head for Gettysburg Battlefield where our guide takes us on a special tour of this most awesome battlefield.  We will have lunch and free time at the Visitor’s Center before we tour the Eisenhower National Historic Site and visit the only home ever owned by Dwight Eisenhower and  his wife, Mamie.

Day 6, Friday, July 20, 2012

Today we head to Terre Haute, IN for our overnight.  Unless we are delayed, we should arrive in time for complimentary drinks and hot hors’ devours buffet at our hotel.

Today we return home with fond memories of the Amish experiences.
