Day 1, Sunday, June 16

The National Parks in the United States were set aside and protected as National Treasures because of their great beauty or uniqueness in nature. Today, we begin our journey through some of the most beautiful and most unique areas in the world. Our destination on the first night of this journey will be Amarillo, Texas where we will enjoy a casual dinner at our hotel.  (D)

Day 2, Monday, June 17

Today we arrive in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Sandia Peak Tramway. Lunch with aSandia 360 degree view is included at the top of Sandia Peak. On a clear day you can see forever. We complete the day with some free time in the Old Town of Albuquerque.  (B,L,D)

Day 3, Tuesday, June 18

We travel into Arizona and arrive at the Painted Desert Visitor Center in time to have lunch, on our own, at the former Fred Harvey House, known for the housing of the “Harvey Girls” during the era of railroad travel. Next, we begin our spectacular driving tour of the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park.  Overnight in Flagstaff, Arizona.  (B)

Day 4, Wednesday, June 19

Some dramatic scenery awaits as we drive through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona to see the fascinating and awesome fiery red, rim stone formations. For a view to remember, we will take a “World Famous” Pink Jeep Tour through the breathtaking rock canyons to the very top of the Mogollon Rim, 2000 feet above Sedona. After lunch and some free time, we depart for our hotel at the entrance of the Grand Canyon. (B)

Day 5, Thursday, June 20

What a day we have planned for you.  We will spend the day taking in the ruggedness of the Grand Canyon. We will have an included lunch, do a driving tour around the South Rim of the Canyon, and give you free time to explore on your own.  Whatever you might have expected, you just won’t be prepared for what you’ll see as endless oceans of color spread to the far horizons in ever changing waves of gold, crimson, blue and lavender sandstone.  This evening we head for our Page, AZ hotel for our first of two nights. Day 6, Friday, June 21

Today’s journey takes us to spectacular Antelope Canyon. Our Navajo guide will lead us on a spiritual walking tour where we can wonder at the magic and beauty of this unique slotAntelope canyon canyon. We will then venture to the Lake Powell Resort for an included lunch before enjoying the afternoon enjoying breathtaking views of Glen Canyon on a fun and informative boat tour. (B,L)

Day 7, Saturday, June 22

Another day of spectacular scenery as we travel into Utah and to Zion National Park.  We’ll do a tram tour to view the massive canyon walls as they ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. These unique sandstone cliffs range in color from cream, to pink, to red. They could be described as sand castles crowning desert canyons.  After an included lunch at Zion Lodge, we continue to Bryce Canyon National Park for our overnight in Bryce Canyon City. (B,L)

Day 8, Sunday, June 23

Castles, spires, temples, hoodoo, battlements whatever you may imagine its probably in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, a gigantic wonderland of eroded rock.  After our driving tour, we depart for Green River, Utah. (B,D)

Day 9, Monday, June 24

Another morning of incredible formations as we tour Arches National Park, Utah before continuing to Glenwood Springs, Colorado and the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge, next to the world’s largest outdoor mineral hot pool,  You can relax in 90 degree water or, if you prefer, the smaller therapy pool is 104 degrees. It’s like having a 2-block long hot tub! (B)

Day 10, Tuesday, June 25

With totally awesome scenery all the way, we continue through the Rocky Mountains.  We will leave behind the unbelievable beauty of our National Parks and begin our way back home. Included is a farewell dinner before arriving in Hays, Kansas for our last night of this fabulous tour.  (B,D) 

Day 11, Wednesday, June 26

As we arrive in Springfield, we will always be proud that our ancestors had the foresight to designate these magnificent lands as National Parks in order that they might be preserved for us to see and enjoy as well as our children after us. (B)
