Day 1, Saturday, April 14

Depart Springfield, Missouri for Manchester, Tennessee

Day 2, Sunday, April 15

We have a travel day today as we depart via Atlanta, Georgia into Brusnwick, Georgia for our overnight.

Day 3, Monday, April 16

We will have a local guide for a tour of the beautiful, historic “Golden Isles”. It will include Jekyll Island, featuring the winter homes of turn-of-the-century millionaires.  Also St. Simons Island with a stop at Christ Church and the cemetery in Frederica, made world famous by Eugenia Price in her novel “Beloved Invader.”   There will be time for lunch and shopping at the village pier where the light house is located.  See the beautiful old oak trees draped with moss.  We continue to charming Savannah, Georgia for our first of two nights.

Day 4, Tuesday, April 17

We begin our guided tour into one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the nation with its beautiful cobblestone streets, splendid mansions, and exquisite ironwork which reveal 260 years of history.  The tour ends with lunch at Lady and Son’s restaurant made famous by Paula Deen.  After lunch, we will see Savannah from a different angle as we take a wetlands  cruise where we will get to see the beautiful lighthouse on Tybee Island and quite possibly a dolphin or two!  There will be free time on the waterfront before returning to our hotel.

Day 5, Wednesday, April 18

We depart Savannah for Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and a guided tour of Hilton
Head including Sea Pines Plantation.  The tour will end at Harbour Town with an included lunch at Crazy Crab Restaurant.  You will have free time to browse the waterfront boutiques and maybe climb the lighthouse before continuing on to the historic Charleston area. This evening we have time to enjoy our beautiful beachfront hotel and quaint village of Folly Beach.

Day 6, Thursday, April 19

The City of Charleston is another gem of the Old South and we will enjoy a Horse Drawn Carriage Tour through the historic district this morning and a tour of Fort Sumter  national Monument in the afternoon.  But don’t worry, there will be time for you to have lunch and browse the shops of “The Market”, as you explore the historic streets of Charleston at your own pace.

Day 7, Friday, April 20

Today we will step back in time as we tour the magnificent Boon Hall Plantation where they have been continuously growing crops for 320 years! Here you will tour the plantation house, visit original slave cabins and learn about the unique low country culture. We will stop and have some traditional southern cooking for lunch before departing for Charlotte, North Carolina.  Unless we are delayed we should arrive in time for complimentary drinks and hot hors’ devours at our hotel.

Day 8, Saturday, April 21

A real treat is in store for us this morning as we take a nostalgic trip back through the life and ministry of Billy Graham in the new Billy Graham Library and Museum.  This afternoon we continue on to Asheville, North Carolina to tour the awesome Biltmore Mansion and the fabulous gardens.  It will be easy to understand why George Vanderbilt chose this scenic spot!

Day 9, Sunday, April 22

We begin our journey home and will end our day with a lovely farewell dinner at Patti’s in Grand Rivers, Kentucky  as our way of saying “Thank You” for traveling with Sunnyland Tours.
