Day 1, Sunday, August 20

Today we blast off toward Clarksville, TN. Clarksville is right on the Celestial path of the Solar  Eclipse, and people from all over the world will be flocking to witness the big event. Tonight, the festivities begin with dinner and entertainment.  (D)

Day 2, Monday, August 21

Today is the big day! This is the first time in over 4 decades that we have had the opportunity to witness such an amazing phenomenon. To get an idea of what is really happening, and why it is so special, we will participate in a presentation, hosted at the historic Customs House Museum, to explain it all. Following the presentation, we head out to one of Tennessee largest wineries, for a tour, wine tasting, lunch, and the “viewing party.” There will be live entertainment, places to sit, and your very own viewing glasses to observe the eclipse.  Tonight, we treat you to another great dinner! (B L D)

Day 3, Tuesday, August 22

We leave Clarksville behind and head over to Scottsboro, AL. This is the home of the #1 most visited place in Alabama-the Unclaimed Baggage Center. Sadly, sometimes a piece of luggage gets misplaced, and after 90 days of trying to find its rightful owner, it lands in Alabama. Here items are sorted, cleaned and priced to sell. You never know what outlandish item you might find! There is “space” for us tonight in Huntsville, AL. (B)

Day 4, Wednesday, August 23

In the 1950’s a team of actual rocket scientists turned what was once known as the “Watercress Capital of the World” into a technology center that today is home to the second largest research park in the United States and to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Here you can view more than 1,500 items that are valued in the tens of millions of dollars. From America’s first satellite, Explorer I, to next generation space vehicles like Sierra Nevada’s Dream Chaser, the museum showcases the past, present and future of human spaceflight. The USSRC is more than just artifacts! Experience the physics of astronaut training like never before in simulators like Space ShotTM and G-Force. Here, everyone can be an Astronaut for a day! (B)

Day 5, Thursday, August 24

Time to return to our earthly home in Springfield, MO. We will have a farewell lunch along the way to cap off a tour that has been out of this world! (B L)
