We will travel to Carson City and see the State Capitol which is still being used, the location of the original silver mint and the Carson City Nugget, gold that is! History this morning and then scenic beauty as we cross the California border into spectacular Lake Tahoe, the “lake in the sky”. We will board The Queen for a two hour narrated cruise on Lake Tahoe with its 97% pure water and sapphire blue color.

A different kind of scenery today as we drop down to the valley floor for a Luncheon Train Ride on the NAPA Valley Wine Train for an up close view of the rich beauty of NAPA Valley. We made it! It’s Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco tonight.

A four hour guided tour of San Francisco and then a tour of the infamous island prison, Alcatraz. We then return to Fisherman’s Wharf where you can find any number of wonderful restaurants and shops.

We depart San Francisco and enjoy free time at Cannery Row on the Monterey Peninsula. We also tour the Monterey Aquarium with its 623 named species and special aquarium tanks that pump in fresh ocean water from Monterey Bay.

We are in for some awesome scenery today as we depart our hotel and begin our drive south on Highway 1. We have excellent views of the Pacific coast as we continue on the Big Sur Highway to San Simeon for a tour of the 165 room Hearst Castle.
