Day 1, Saturday, June 2, 2012

Depart Springfield,  Missouri.  Today’s destination is Dayton, Ohio.  Unless delayed, we should arrive in time for our hotel’s complimentary drinks and hot hors’ devours buffett.

Day 2, Sunday, June 3, 2012

We depart Dayton and head to another Springfield, Springfield, Virginia for a three-night stay.

Day 3, Monday, June 4, 2012

An awesome day as we begin our tour of Washington DC.   We will pick up our local guide for an absolutely fascinating narrated tour of all the things you think about when you
think of Washington, DC.  The Capital, a back yard glimpse of the White House, the new nostalgic World War II Memorial, plus Korean, Vietnam, Thomas Jefferson and Franklin
Delano Roosevelt Memorials and the impressive Lincoln Memorial.

Day 4, Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Another exciting day with the opportunity to spend a full day at the Smithsonian Institute Museums before returning to our hotel.  When the day is over you will realize that even a week would not be enough time to view all of the wonderful exhibits at this marvelous preservation of our history and culture.

Day 5, Wednesday, June 6, 2012

The George Washington farm and home at Mt. Vernon, a narrated tour of the Arlington
National Cemetery including gravesites of JFK and Jackie and the Changing of the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier make this a day to remember.  Today’s destination is Charlottesville, Virginia.

Day 6, Thursday, June 7, 2012

This morning we visit Monticello, the mountain top home of Thomas Jefferson and one of the most unique colonial homes in America.  A tour and lunch at the Historical Michie’s Tavern and we turn west through the fabulous Shenandoah Valley to Bedford, Virginia where we have a guided tour of the awesome D-Day Memorial before departing for Christiansburg, Virginia for our over night.

Day 7, Friday, June 8, 2012

Enjoy the beautiful foot hills of the Great Smoky Mountains as we travel through Knoxville and Nashville into Grand Rivers, Kentucky for our lodging.  You will love the farewell dinner we have planned for you tonight at Patti’s 1880′s Settlement.

Our final leg of the journey finds us traversing Missouri with an early afternoon arrival back home in Springfield at approximately 2:45 PM.
